You know what trends are like? They are exactly like the seasons. You know why? Because secretly, all the people responsible for them know they are only cool enough to be passing, that they will only work for the moment because not everyone can wear them.

The key is to figure that out sooner, so you don’t waste a lot of time and money and risk a lot of frustrating trying to make yourself fit with some trend that just does not suit you.

You know why the little black dress is classic? Because it has withstood the test of time and proven itself over the years. Uggs have, thank goodness, come and gone, but the LBD is still here.

You always want your wardrobe to be new and fresh, so there is nothing wrong with incorporating a few trends — but make sure you keep it relegated to the ones that suit you, and that you mix them with classic pieces that never go out of style.
